Default Windows Update will not start to download to install updates

Widows Update site will not start to download any updates after install
updates is clicked. However the same updates can be downloaded from knowledge
base or the rest of Microsoft site. Is it possible to reinstall Windows
Update under XP or is there an easier cure for this problem?

Hi

You could try the steps in this post to try to get WU to work:

http://groups.google.com/groups?selm...GP14.phx.gb l

Also, if you have Windows XP SP2 installed, check that the
WuWebControlClass is enabled in Internet Explorer:

If nothing of the above worked, try the steps in this post:

http://groups.google.com/groups?selm...gp13.phx. gbl

Here are some more steps you can try if the above was of no help:

"Software update incomplete" error message when you visit the
Windows Update Web site

You cannot install some updates or programs
