No Audio or video?
My newly installed MSN Messenger under tools, option, connection says the
following: Advance connection information reads you are connected to the internet through a non UPnP port restricted NAT. (Administrator)? Can anyone tell me what this means and could this be the problem why I can have any audio or video communications with others using either MSN or Windows Messenger? If so could anyone tell me how to fix this issue? Thanks |

No Audio or video?
Greetings Bob,
This indicates that you're either using a router, some other type of Internet Sharing, or your ISP is "NATing" (essentially sharing) your connection (Comcast does not). This *is* the reason why you're not able to establish voice conversations (the webcam should function, as it can use a relay server, but video conference will not) as an Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) enabled NAT (router/etc.) is required for these types of connections to be established. Assuming you are using a router, various routers now have support for UPnP, you may just need to upgrade its firmware the latest version. Let us know what router you're seeing, and we can quickly lookup if there is a firmware update available to you. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Bob Bell" wrote in message ... Sorry I screwed up on the posting. Well I am not real sure I am using a Wireless - G broadband router 2.4 ghz by Linksys, to route another computer upstair in my house. This XP machine then goes into a PCX2200 Tosiba Cable Modem? Is this any help to get me an update. Thanks, Bob "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote in message ...
