Default CDR won't open

The paper clip trick got my disc out, but the tray still
won't respond to commands to open. Suggestions?

Drawer is probably out of alignment. This is due in most cases to the user
pushing on the drawer to close it instead of using the button that opens
*AND* closes the tray. the gears that control the tray are made of a
relatively soft plastic. You could try to have it realigned, but
considering that labor alone is probably in the neighborhood of $65 per
hour, it would be cheaper to just buy a new unit. In the future , if you
want a long service life from your unit, do not close the tray by pushing on
it. Use the same button that opens it. This will keep the tray in proper
alignment.
