Default A drive

Vic,
It sounds like the a drive has been disconnected, or
was deleted from your directory. To trouble shoot go to
My Computer, right click, scroll down to properties, left
click, click on the hardware tab, click hardware wizard,
scroll down to floppy disk drive, left click, then left
click on next this should help you see if it it working
properly. If not, windows should allow you to use the
troubleshoot feature to reinstall. If you don't see the
floppy disk drive listed, close the box go down to device
manager, left click the device manager, right click on
floppy disk drive, left click on scan for hardware
changes, if that doesn't work; click on properties and use
the troubleshoot feature. If none of those options work,
in the device manager you should see floppy disk
controller, follow the same steps as stated above for
floppy disk drive. What you are trying to do is "map" or
locate this hardware so windows can identify it, and see
if there is a problem with the hardware. If you see a
small exclamation icon partially covering the floppy
disk/disk controller icon, this means there is a conflict
with your operating system and the hardware, continue
wioth the steps above and you should be able to resolve
the issue. But really, who uses the floppy 3.5 any more?

Good luck!
