memory
Not sure this is the correct news group for this question, if not forgive
me. This is a little used computer, hard drive has 76 percent free space. I have 256 K of memory in reviewing system resources or whatever, it indicates I only have 19 K of physical memory. A. is this OK B. might this be the cause of the computer running very slow C. if the lack of physical memory is a problem, how do I rectify it Thanks, jem |

What kind of computer? You list '256k' of memory. Do you mean 256mb? If
it is 256k it is 20 years old and no longer of much use. How much space is on the hard drive? Is it OK for what? No one can give you advice without some better description of what you have. -- Colin Barnhorst [MVP Windows - Virtual Machine] (Reply to the group only unless otherwise requested) "jem" wrote in message ... XP tries to find *some* use, however trivial, for all RAM at all times. And with 256 MB will usually succeed. The 'available physical' should really be 'RAM for which there is currently no conceivable use'. Trivial uses will drop away instantly when something more important comes along -- Alex Nichol MS MVP (Windows Technologies) Bournemouth, U.K. (remove the D8 bit) |
