Default Skype to Skype Contact Information

Hi,
I recently downloaded Skype onto my Wife's Windows 7 laptop.
Also, I downloaded it onto my Android tablet. Note: I created an account
for her Skype (laptop) and another account (my account) for my tablet.

When I installed Skype, there was no contact number, similar
to a telephone or node number indicated!!

If I go on a trip with my tablet, how do I contact (Skype to Skype)
my Wife (using her laptop) at a pre-arranged time?

Thank You in advance, John

When you created the Skype accounts, you also entered something called
the 'Skype Name'. The Skype Name is what you put in your Contacts in
Skype and the Skype Name is what you use to call another Skype user.
Once someone is in your Contacts list in Skype, you no longer need the
Skype Name, but for example just tap SheWhoMustBeObeyed! :-)

If you don't remember your Skype Name, login on the Skype *website*,
(https://www.skype.com) using the *email* address you used to create
the account. On the 'My Account' page, click 'Edit profile'. You will
now see your Profile with a 'Personal information' section, which lists
the 'Skype Name' your looking for.

As to 'If I go on a trip ...': Just try it while you're still at home.
You can call your wife (on her Windows 7 laptop) from Skype on your
Android tablet. Just make sure you're not too close to eachother -
preferably in seprate rooms - or the sound from one speaker will be
picked up by the other microphone, causing a nasty high pitched sound.

Hi,
I tried to do what you suggested, but it created a problem with my
Wife's Skype. Note: There was NO problem after I installed Skype
on her laptop. I first launched Skype on my tablet (no problem), but
when I launched Skype on my Wife's laptop, I saw a message regarding
logging in. I entered the correct (her's) email address and password,
but it did't "work". I KNEW it was the correct password.
I tried the "Forgot Password" routine and created a new password.
That did NOT "work"!!!! I un-installed Skype on her laptop.

I will install Skype again on her laptop, and try to launch it, but I
will NOT try Skype to Skype at home test again.

John

Hi Frank,

I downloaded Skype onto my Wife's laptop, but that did not change
the problem.

I decided to follow the "account.live.com" suggestion and according to
info on her account, a message about suspected unauthorized access was
displayed!!!

I was able to "fix" the issue after I received a code number (via a text
message to my telephone) that I entered.

Again, Thanks for that information, John
..
