Default Lost German letters e.g. üöä on a e.g. Danish keyboard

Basically it works like this: I press the dots next to enter (where also acute and tilde are) and the the letter I need as uoa as in the header

I have danish keyboard and need german/estonian letter, and this system works well.

However app one week ago I lost it... some settings in windows or?
Also the "option" of "double dots" does not work. However on my Estonian keyboard the letter "õ" is there at it woks - hence this is an SW problem not a HW problem

any ideas?

I tried to uninstall my keyboards and reinstall them - did not help
