Yes, I can see your carefully reasoned argument.

It's my experience. Windows doesn't annoy me at all. The only thing M$
ever did that irritated me was Metro in Windows 8, which made me use
classic shell. Apart from that, M$ have done nothing but improve Windows.

What irritates me is that MS is trying to ram 10 down my throat. That's my
decision, not theirs.

You don't need to have the decision to use the second best Windows. And for ****'s sake it's FREE! It's unbelievable that Microsoft are for once GIVING STUFF AWAY then people STILL bloody complain about it. For crying out loud, get a life!

It's not that it's being given free it's because they are
trying to force everyone to upgrade when there is no reason
for this attitude.

So, you're driving a Lada about, and I give you a free Ferrari and take your Lada away. Would you complain?

And look at it from their point of view. Why should they expend more effort and expense looking after more than one OS just for the luddites?

The main reason is they said they would support 7 and 8.1 to
a particular years which are a few years out still.

You can't necessarily get much work done with a Ferrari. They are
finicky, fragile machines requiring expensive and frequent servicing
by specialists. Frankly, if you gave me a free Ferrari I would give
it back. (We don't have Ladas in the U.S. Closest equivalent might be
a Rambler. I would rather have a practical, utilitarian Rambler than a
high-strung toy like a Ferrari any day.)

And look at it from their point of view. Why should they expend more effort and expense looking after more than one OS just for the luddites?

I really don't care about their point of view. Mine is that I maintain
business systems which you don't just cavalierly toss operating system
upgrades at. I am dealing with cases in which business owners have
specifically been told that specialized software they depend on will
not work properly on Windows 10 - and now we have to deal with Microsoft
spamming domain-connected PCs with upgrade offers.

The upgrade being offered is not a problem. What I and others do mind is
Microsoft repeatedly and forcibly shoving it down peoples' throats who don't
want it and continually escalating the process. Once it is refused on
a PC Microsoft should just shut the hell up and stop pushing it.

I'm sure Microsoft has a reason for that attitude.

I think Microsoft is giving it away free for two reasons, and both are
money. One is money from the users, because Windows will become a
service that you have to pay for just like your phone bill, and the
other is money from the government for the information it collects
about its customers.

Windows 10 convinced me to stop using any Microsoft products, and I
have removed Windows from all my computers.

I quit Windows years ago.

We don't know yet what the end game is with this. I strongly suspect
that Microsoft would down the road like to get regular fees from Windows
users, as they do with Office 365, if they thought they could get away
with it. As you say though I don't believe it will be any time soon.

The increasingly aggressive way they are pushing this upgrade is pretty
disturbing though.

This regular troll is too clueless to know that software claiming to be

beta version is being forced on users.

I feel SO SORRY for those who can't figure out how to stop

If Microsoft reduces maintenance costs by turning Windows into one
continuously updated operating system, that means it will be a
subscription service.

Or Microsoft will stop charging for Windows.

Or windows will no longer be available for installation, only coming on
new PCs.

You can now stop posting here because you are unlikely to have anything
meaningful to suggest. This newsgroup is for people using Windows
products and in particular people using Windows 10.

Any stop your stupidity to cross-post on every newsgroup you can find on
this planet.

For those of you who are still in doubt, the subject matter of this
thread is false and misleading. I am using Windows 7 to post this
message and I am not getting any pop-ups or nags to upgrade my machine.
Either I know how to use Windows efficiently or that you guys are
completely stupid and now crying like small babies. Grow up and learn
to look after yourselves.
