Change user
One of my colleagues left so I am trying to update his computer for a new
user. I updated the name on the registered user(via DougKnox tool) and even went through the registry and replaced all instances of my old colleague's name with that of the new colleague. I then went to the control panel and updated the user there. I thought I changed the name in all of the places that I could but I guess not. I can't figure out how to get the name to change on My Documents, on the author in WORD, etc. We want the new colleague to have the same set up but have a different name on the machine. Please help! Thank you! |

Have you created a separate logon account for the new user?

Thank you! The registered user name has nothing to do with the user accounts. You need to make a new user account for your colleague. If you want to use the same settings, etc. as the old user account, copy the old account to the new one per these instructions: Copy a User Account - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=811151 Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" Why not simply delete the old user account and create a new user account?
You need to be logged in as a user with admin rights. "Julie" wrote in message ... One of my colleagues left so I am trying to update his computer for a new user.
