Default squirrel in a cage

Surely the same security update is not supposed to be
downloaded and installed every day for two months -- or is
it?

My machine is running XP Pro, and the security update is
numbered "KB835732". I've let it download and install
itself over and over, but it's left me feeling a bit like
the squirrel running around a little cage getting
nowhere. Actually, it doesn't encourage a feeling of
security at all.

If this is the way it's supposed to behave I should think
Microsoft would at least give it's security updates new
numbers every so often.

I totally agree with you. The same thing happened to me, but with a
different number.
