Default Epson set up can not allocate working memory

When I try to reinstall my Epson printer I get an error message "set up can
not allocate working memory".
When I try to add the printer through the add a printer wizard, there are no
ports displayed in the "add a port" window.
Epson claims all drivers are fine. Dell says machine is fine.
All of my USB stuff works fine (mouse, Palm, mem stick, etc.)
I have attempted to remove all traces of the printer driver, twain drivers,
reinstalled usb hub controllers etc. etc.
I am able to load the scan driver and operate the machine as a scanner.
Please help,
Jim
