Default "EIDE" warning

That's Dell's version of a "SMART" error. It usually
means that the hard drive's self-monitoring has flagged
that there's a problem on the hard drive, either too many
bad sectors "growing" or temperature out of spec or some
other hardware issue. I usually take this to mean it's
time to buy a new drive, chain it together with the old
one, and run a "cloning" program like Symantec's "Ghost"
to replace the drive.
