Help at last. Thanks!
I have tried memtest86 and let it run for a bit, all seemed ok. I have heard about incompatibility between generic RAM and certain motherboards, does this sound realistic & would memtest86 pick this up? "Bob Day" wrote in message ... "Max Coppin" wrote in message ... I'm at a bit of a loss but would appreciate 2 pieces of advice:- snip 1. A good testing program that will check everything is functioning properly. Run a few cycles of "memtest86" (download from http://www.memtest86.com) to check out your memory. You should get zero errors. Then -- Run a full set of hardware diagnostics. ("diag378.exe", downloadable from ftp://ftp1.dell.com/diags, after a few complaints, will run on most non-Dell computers.) You should get zero errors. -- Bob Day |
