Can not write accents
I did "inactivate" the graphics in the device manager.
Is that the same as installing standard VGA? It did not help. I took a quick look at the articles. It will take some time before I have time to study them close (I'm preparing for Christmas....) But I thougt I should try failsafe mode again: (On another computer with normal functioning keyboard accent keys are working the same way in normal and safe mode (as you probably already knew...) When I restarted my computer in safe mode the accent keys did not seem to react at all. In normal mode I can write ´´´´´´´´´´´´¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨~~~~~~ with accent keys. In safe mode nothing happens. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Candy" . Can not write accents
Now I have tried booting in VGA mode. No difference.
- Does someone know a Swedish, or Norweigian or other (not Frenchspeaking...) group where I could post this issue? - I restarted in Safe Mode with Command Prompt. At the prompt it is possible to write accented letters. That was expected as it is possible to write them in a "DOS"-window in normal mode and in safe mode. I enabled bootlogging and took a quick look into it. How do I choose what to load under booting? -------- David Candy, I really appreciate that you have been with me this long, without (almost never) having to use accents yourself ----- "David Candy" . skrev i meddelandet ... soc.culture.nordic seems not to be good for XP troubles Try it and see. Guys there confront the same problems, and I venture to say that most of them use WinXP. There are Swedes, Norwegians, Finns, a few Danes, a bunch of strange Americans and Canadians, and an occasional Spaniard or Italian. Ha de så bra. *TimDaniels* |

Can not write accents
The problem is solved.
The computer had a trojan virus. http://securityresponse.symantec.com...or.prorat.html "pakten" skrev i meddelandet ... I can not write é by first pressing the ´-key and then the e-key. The problem is in (at least) MS Word and IE. If I press the ´-key it writes ´´. The same problem with another keyboard. No problem in DOS-windows. |
