Displaying webpages offline
I have a bunch of genealogy webpages at Yahoo. I have them saved in Favorites
and available offline. Am having trouble with some of them not being available offline so made the same pages and put them in C:\ ... their address is C:\Pages606\pagename.htm and they're all linked together with that addy .... However, when I click'em while offline I still get the .... "Internet Explorer is unable to display this page when you are not connected to the Internet." ... bit.!! They flash for a fraction of a second and then zilch....just that msg.... Why do I have to be online to see the pages in my C: drive? While online their addys show as file//C:\Pages606\yaddayadda.htm but I still need to be online to see them!! I have a desktop icon pointing to them but they just won't show?!? Chas. I looked at all the forums on the left but couldn't find any that looked more suitable for this question. |
