Since Windows 7 is obsolete, it cant be purchased any more.
So except for buying used copies on ebay, it's pretty much Abandonware.
Thus it's Free.

Because it is free and abandonware, you can get it everywhere.

Oh, oh yeah, it is supported until 2020.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ilter=FilterNO

Windows 7 Home Premium Start = 10/22/2009
Mainstream Support = 1/13/2015
Extended Support = 1/14/2020

That means staff are still working on the product as
we speak. Support people doing security updates.
Until Jan.14 in the year 2020.

And oops, golly. It's for sale. In fact, I bought
my copy here last fall. Of course, Canadian money
is monopoly money, in terms of its worth, so the
value in USD will be a smaller sum. I needed to get
the Professional edition, to get "large memory" support.

"Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition 64Bit DVD SP1 OEM $199.99 CAD"
http://www.ncix.com/detail/microsoft...45275-1148.htm

Now, you can still download it. You will need to "borrow" the
key of a friend, long enough to use the Microsoft media
download page. (Have your friend do the download, and then
your friend doesn't even need to share the key with you at
all. And then your friend can just give you the ISO9660 file.)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...nload/windows7

The thing of value is the key, not the media. Media used to be
available on digitalriver.com, when that company used to be selling it.
But they've shut down sales of Windows 7, probably a year ago.
So no digitalriver downloads any more. And since you know
how to use torrents, and checksums for torrents are readily
available (for MSDN subscription DVDs), it's really not
a problem to get the DVD, even without friends.

Once you have the media, Windows 7 has a "skip" button for
the license. The install will complete. Then, put on your
pirate cap, look for a copy of DAZLoader. Job done.
Then get an account at one of the forums that specializes
in such things, so you can go "Yarrh!" (the pirate chant)
and so on.

Enjoy,
Paul

How eloquent. You didn't bother to look at my link?
Perhaps you could try that next time before responding.

It's a site to buy software. Similar to NewEgg. I
was just leaving it to the OP to do the research,
giving them the benefit of the doubt that they
may actually be wanting to get Win7.

Fyi....Only retail keys function(OEM, MSDN, or similar MSFT subscription
services that provide o/s download will not work)
- Even more important not all language choices are available -
including English and many other language versions. I last verified
this about a week ago, reported it again to MSFT - the missing languages
first occurred shortly after the Digital River iso links disappeared.

i.e. if entering a retail key, the key may be accepted as acceptable to
download the edition for the entered key but the desired language may
not be available.

Wrong. Obscelence is independent of lack of support.

... it cant be purchased any more.

Yes, it can. You're too lazy to look.

So except for buying used copies on ebay, it's pretty much Abandonware.

Yeah, I'm sure you would like your childish arguments to legally deem
the software as free. How old are you?

Where can I download Windows 7 for FREE?

This is not a pro-piracy newsgroup.

Please post the URL.

No longer supported does not surrender ownership. Go ask your parents
for them to pay again for your whims. Ain't it a bitch when you grow
up, move out, and your parents no longer pay for everything.

I see we have another immature AOIElian poster trolling the newsgroup.

Do you know how I view that site ?

1) Start a VM (Linux).
2) Run Firefox in the VM.
3) Paste the URL into the VM and the copy of Firefox.

That's my own personal DEFCON level for that site.

My response to the site, is based on experience,
not on scans. That's the kind of rubber gloves
I wear now. Just the advertising content alone,
tells you the site is not well curated.

It's listed as clean here.

You can also run a separate scan here, such

Why can't you just download it from MS?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...nload/windows7

I downloaded it some time ago. At that time, you didn't need
a key to download, but you're gonna need a key to use it anyway,
so you must have one.

One could, as long as they have a retail product key, but if they need
English or one of the other many languages (missing for quite sometime)
then they can't download 7 from that Microsoft site.
