How to clean up unneeded Resources directories
One of my pet peeves with Adobe and Apple software (among many others) is
their insistence on installing support for every imaginable language. I just applied a QuicktTime update and it, as usual, introduced thousands and thousands of language resource files that will never be used. They add to the clutter and, nominally, slow down diretory searches. How difficult would it be for installers to filter out all but the necessary Resource directories/files? So... is there even a semi-automated way to clean these up? I see that Windows itself has lots of Resources folders, so the cleanup must be done with some care. On -really- slow days, I sometimes go through and delete these manually, but that only lasts until the next update. TIA, Jason |
