IMO, Windows 10 is an awesome operating system and it surprises me that _anyone_ had any kind of dislike for it. Sarcasm? (now I know how Sheldon Cooper must feel). No, I truly believe that it is the best version of Windows yet. Just shut the **** up and mop a floor somewhere. Wow. that just ensured I'll ignore you forever. Somehow I'll soldier on. It may be hard knowing some douche I couldn't care less about won't read my posts and feels he's important enough to think it would hurt my feelings but I think I'll survive. You apparently enjoy being ignored. But you're not ignoring me, Ed. You said you were going to ignore me forever and hours later here you are chattig me up again. Sad life. My life is sad? You waddle around announcing to people you're going to lie about ignoring them as if being ignored by you is a horror none can stand. Ohh! Just noticed the somewhat apropos tag line in my sig! Nice! By the way, how old are you? Just trying to figure out if you're just young and ignorant or you've spent decades practicing to get this way. Why would you care, Ed? You're going to ignore me, forever. Get on with it. It's like Lynyrd Skynyrd sang "That Smell".. PHEWIEE! Dookie-diapers -= Sqwhawk =- permeates the air then accuses everybody else of being "obsessed". A trick he learned from his mommie when he was in leetle gurls' retarded remedial academy for crack-babies. news I can't decide what any of that meant because of what I guess are typos. Aren't you clever. Wait, you were going to ignore me. . . Guys? If you're going to argue at least do it so the rest of us can read and understand it. Sheesh. I leave typos for Andy to catch so the poor little ****tard can have some imaginary moments of superiority. Like when you claim you're going to ignore someone and then start obsessing over them. -= SQWHawk-tard =- "obsesses" in his lady geriatric diapers and then blames everybody else for smelling him... A clever trick he learnt from his mommie while he was still a leetle crack-baby. If you're referring to the bug where wuauserv uses 100% CPU for half an hour, you want to disable that instead. That is actually where your better response time comes from, preventing wuauserv from wasting cycles. It lives inside a svchost, and you'll see a svchost running at 100% when the problem is evident. Paul Thanks! I think I saw someone recommended your method to stop forced Win Update in Win 10..... This is starting to get really tiresome. This https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3080351 which says to add the registry key Subkey: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUp date DWORD value: DisableOSUpgrade = 1 to stop updates doesn't say it will work with anything except the Pro (or core?) versions of 7 or 8. I think I've said before that many of the contacts that I support have moved to or started making noises about some sort of Mac OS. I am not sure that a change would help them, but I'm sure that Microsoft have given the impression that they hope to alter (ie destabilise) the OS of anyone on Windows 7 or 8. -- Bill |
