Default Un/Reinstall Turbotax 2008 Problem

I need to get into my 2008 (that would be LAST years taxes). TT2008 shows
in my Explorer/Program folder, but apparently is corrupt. I need to
un/reinstall it, however, there is no uninstall option. Trying to reinstall
it gets the error message "a version of TT2008 is already installed" -
remove by going to Ctrl/P Add/Remove programs, etc.. Unfortunately, it
does not appear in that listing.

The 2009 TT has a Repair option but 2008 does not.

Would appreciate any suggestions on how to remove TT2008.

Thx

Dave

That would involve manually deleting the registry entries.

You'd need to do a registry search and delete the entries

but that could be risky.

If you currently have TT2009 it would be doubly risky as you could
easily delete the keys needed for the newer version

something like this may work

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

I've never used it though so cannot verify whether or not it works correctly

Contact the makers of TurboTax.

Since it can be installed on various versions of Windows - The Windows XP
general newsgroups would probably not be the best choice for questions
around such a product. Better to ask those who created and support said
product.

Also - can you not just load it up in the newest TurboTax edition - I know
with other software such as that I used - I could view previous years tax
returns with the most current software.

As Shenan has suggested, you might want to contact Intuit for help with
TurboTax. Meanwhile, see if this helps.

Good luck

BTW Shenan -

Snip
Also - can you not just load it up in the newest TurboTax edition

No, TT specifically won't let you do that, but a good suggestion none the
less. Like they say, there are no bad ideas, just help. Appreciate your
help no matter what..
