Default XP/2000 Properties

Are the 2000 machines using NTFS file systems or FAT32?
Are the WinXP machines set to use NTFS or FAT32?
They should be the same to recognize their file systems.

Byte,
Both machines are using NTFS.

-We have a jpg file that was created on a 2000 machine
-We open that file's properties and fill in the authors
name and the comment fields and apply it to the file
-Then we move over to an XP machine and open up the same
file's properties and the author and comment fields are
blank.
-Now, if we take that file, make a copy of it on the XP
machine, fill in the author and comment fields, and then
open the copied file's properties on the 2000 machine. The
comment and author do not show the changed properties we
entered on the XP machine, but instead show the original
properties

What is going on? Shouldn't XP be able to see 2000
properties? Is there anything that can be done to fix
this?
