Default Acrobat 6. (or others) trying to re-install Windows Messenger

HELP!

I recently upgraded to XP. I uninstalled Windows
Messenger without difficulty. I installed Acrobat Reader
6. Now whenever I try to read a pdf or start the program,
Acrobat starts the installation for Windows Messenger 5.0
and it will not load if I cancel the messenger
installation. Has this happened with other programs? How
do I stop it?

Greetings,

You can use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to fix this.

First, download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...-US/msicuu.exe

Run and install the program after you've downloaded it. After the setup is complete, click
Start, then Programs (All Programs if you're using XP), then Windows Install Clean Up.

Click Windows Messenger 5.0 and then click 'Remove'. Click 'OK' to the warning message that
comes up. Also, you may need to recreate some Messenger shortcuts (you'll find Windows
Messenger in \Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe).
