Wow, QuickTime for PC really blows....
I usually use VLC or W.M.P Classic w/ the Kazaa Codec package.. both
are lightweight and play 99% of the video codecs/containers youll find on the net. For fun I thought I'd try QuickTime player, since I was reading about how it can also convert files between formats/resolutions/etc, which sounds cool. But... Am I correct that it cannot play MKV, WMV, XVID, DIVX, FLV, VC1, etc etc etc....??? WTF? THAT'S PATHETIC! ....and on a sidenote I love how this piece of crap keeps trying to register itself to automatically load when my computer turns on.... thankfully I have a program that blocks this kind of SLEEZEY BEHAVIOUR.... So..... Why does it so badly? I give it one star out of ten. Real Player is better then this... Are there no codec packages for Quicktime on the PC? Googling I keep coming across "Perian", but it doesnt come for the PC? Why did they bother to release this piece of CRAP for PC if it can't play most video files? |
