This optional update may repair the long wait times experienced with
Windows Update to show the update screen.


I would give it a try. Your wait time might drop
to 4 to 8 minutes.

Success.

Had to try twice. I did not use the .msu file I had downloaded from the
microsoft download site a few days ago. I checked the KB that was in my
Optional Update list, and it downloaded in 4:11 mins, mande a restore
point, and tried to install in 3:08 mins. But, this time it failed, and
I got the ubiquitous error, 80004005. I just tried again, and it worked
fine.
