Windows / File Explorer Replacement
Win XP and onward.
I am sick and tired of Windows / File Explorer and its stupid interface ! I was hoping that Win 10 would fix that bad behavior but NOT ! All this crap just wastes time for the user and serves no purpose. The mouse does not scroll over the pane it is over ! The Folders pane jumps around when there is no reason for it ! Open a folder and the folder goes to the bottom of the pane. NO STOP THAT ! Such poor MS Windows programmers. Why can they not make it more stable ! They have full access and control over their tree and listview controls etc. It wastes users time having to re-scroll to where it is where it was and can cause errors when a user misses the scrollbar or folder or file when the user should not even have had to mess with anything. I need an explorer that does not jump around and knows that the mouse is over a pane so that pane scrolls. Anyway, is there some free 3rd party Explorer replacement ? Then what about a paid Explorer replacement ? I DO NOT WANT a bunch of extra bells and whistles, just a better Explorer. I do not need more confusion. Thank you ! |

It _does_ include bits for IE and for the start menu as well as for explorer, but all three parts are individually configurable (I think you can even not install them, if you really want). Very well done and dual pane too. No wonder you like it. Drawback: I can't be putting Paid software on my customer's machines just so I can have a better experience for the few times I am there. Any open source ones you like as well? |

The mouse does not scroll over the pane it is over ! http://antibody-software.com/web/sof...der-the-mouse/ The Folders pane jumps around when there is no reason for it ! Classic Shell fixes that a little. Open a folder and the folder goes to the bottom of the pane. Not quite sure, I remember seeing that, but I cannot reproduce right now. It wastes users time having to re-scroll to where it is where it was and can cause errors when a user misses the scrollbar or folder or file when the user should not even have had to mess with anything. The one I like is when you open control panel. It shows 3/4 of the icons right away, so you move your mouse to the one you want and click, but by that time the missing 1/4 is appearing and you end-up clicking something else. Happens to me ALL the time. DOpus is probably the best replacement out there, but it's expensive and full of bells. I see among its options that you can select whether it replaces explorer or not; can't quite see how that would work, unless you run it at startup, or it actually deletes the default explorer which would be dangerous. -- J.
