When starting a program ?

Or starting the OS (i.e. "booting") ?

I can find an example here, of such an error
when a program runs. It can die in a third-party
library used by the program.

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4...-do-i-debug-it

The other kind of 0xc000000d arises during boot,
when BCD is damaged, or winload.exe or winload.efi
is accessed. In some cases, a user has been fiddling
in the BIOS and changed CSM or Secure Boot or some
other setting of that type. Maybe that's why you're
suggesting the reboot ?

Hi Paul,

When I came across it, it was starting both IE and Chrome.
The customer had the default "Fast Boot" and had never
actually shutdown her computer. (I turned it off eventually.)

Doing a real shutdown and restart fixed the issue.

Interesting: I ran the compatibility checker on Chrome to
troubleshoot and it ran fine from the compatibility checker.
Will wonder ever cease!
