Default Forgotten Password HELP!!

Quick Solution, which you can try first.
========================

If you are using Windows XP Professional then at the log-in screen, press
Ctrl+Alt+Del key twice quickly. In User Name type "Administrator" and leave
password blank. After logon you can change the password of other accounts
using Control Panel - User Accounts.

If you are using Windows XP Home Edition then Restart your Computer, tapping
F8 after the post key. Select Safe Mode at the menu and press Enter. Select
Administrator, leave password blank.

This trick sometimes help many user. If you can not log on to Administrator
account even then you can ask for the Administrator password from the person
who has installed Windows.

Hope this information helps you, let us know!

If this is XP Pro, did you or anyone else use ever turn on encryption?

If so, do *not*, under any circumstances, change that password from outside
that account - at least not until you find the certificate backups that
probably were never made. Even then, it's iffy if you are not certain that
they work.

If you don't have these, and many don't, changing the password will
instantly remove any chance of ever accessing the encrypted data. Changing
it back will not help.

If there's no question that this was not done, there are many linux-based
boot disks, like Astrumi, that can remove the passwords.

However, try logging into the administrator account first. Press
control+alt+delete twice at the startup screen to get to the login box.
Try leaving the admin password blank.
