Default Java VM

I am trying to download and install Microsoft Java VM. I
downloaded a file from the site that I was trying play
games on. when I went to install it I got an error
message that it was not a win32 application.

I would like to know what Java to install and how to make
it work.

I am now using for hte first time XP for home which I had
to install a complete installation in order to get
another software to install correctly.

Thanks for your info,

Kathy

ANy time you get a non Windows 32 error, simply means a
required file within the program application is missing,
and has nothing to do with vm java. Vm java useage is for
internet explorer as a plug in for the browser for java
script.

"Vm java useage is for internet explorer as a plug in for the browser for
java script"

Java and JavaScript are 2 different animals.

JavaScript is a "scripting language", which means the program reading it
interprets exactly what you write.

Java, on the other hand, is a general-purpose programming language.

Hi;

MS no longer supports the Java VM. Suggest you go to this site:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp then about half-way down
that page click the link to download the Sun Java Runtime ("Download JRE
5.0 Update 2 ")

Accept the license agreement, then click to download the VM for Windows
Platform,Windows Offline Installation... The file is about 15 MB.
Once the download completes, close your browser and double-click the
file you just downloaded to install it on your system.
