Default Installing a WIA Device Without Port Assignment

Hello,
Is there a way to assign no serial/parallel port to a WIA device
during installation?

Background:
We are developing SW for an X-Ray device. We thought it's a good idea
to provide the images using WIA. What we wonder about is that we must
dedicate a serial or a parallel port for our WIA device. However, the
device delivers the images via Ethernet and there's no need to capture
any port.

Thank you in advance,
Kirill
