Default Network Group Shows Nothing

I purchased another computer and hooked it up via a hub.
Both computers are Win XP and I ran the network wizard on
both computers. Both computers can access the web and e
mail but cant see each other and I cannot share the
printer with the second computer as the second computer
cannot find the main computer on the network. I have also
configured the printer to share. When I check the network
on each computer it only shows that computer. What am I
missing?

Hello,
Disable microsoft "firewalls"...
Are you using a firewall?

try to ping the other computer...
start-cmd- "ping 192.168.1.X" or what the other computer's ip is..
if it "pings ok" rather than giving a "time out" message than the problem is
firewall..

try to "ping 127.0.0.1" if this gives an error so your problem is TCP /IP
settings of your computer..try to reinstall them

Best regards,

Evren Demirkan
