Domain list

Hello everyone, I have been having a problem logging on to
a 2000 domain. However, before I can even enter my
password, I go to change the Domain in the drop down box t
the logon screen. It says please wait while the domain
list is created. Why does the computer not remember the
list of domains that were on it before? Then when it
finally creates it takes over 10 minutes to logon. Any
suggestions?
