No "Recording" tab in CD-R properties
If I look at the properties dialog(?) box for my CD recorder, I do not
see the Recording tab which some people on the Web refer to. I am running XP Pro/SP2. The CD recorder is a Lite-On from about 3 years ago. I use Nero to do my burning. Thank you. Andy ------------- PS: I want to find this tab to try a solution to a problem I am hitting to do with being unable to see the CD's files: "not accessible - Incorrect Function" |

Start Run services.msc.
See if your " IMAPI CD-Burning Com Service" is started. If not Start it. Most likely what has happened. Nero is very picky about what drivers are running on a system once you install Nero. It doesn't want any other drivers other than its running. As far as I am concerned that is extremely poor programming on Nero's part. |

No "Recording" tab in CD-R properties
I found the answer. Go to Help and Support at support.microsoft.com then it is under _CD-R_drive_or_CD-RW_drive_is_not_recognized_as_a_recordable_device_ . I had to edit the registry but first it tells you to back it up. and explains how. It's done by change the volume from a 3 to a 2 or 1 depending on CDR or CDRW. I'm thrilled!!! Ask me more details if you can't find it. -- Dfan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dfan's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/113421.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/xp-hardware/581194.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
