Phone number to activate WinXP pro
I thought it would be easy to find the phone number to activate XP. But, I
have been searching Microsoft website in vain. If anyone knows the number, or webpage, I would be most appreciative. |

Phone number to activate WinXP pro
Thank you both. I suppose I should put some meat on the bones. I have had a
bad case of the reverse Midas touch over the last year and have had a string of hardware and software failures which required reinstalling my genuine all paid for copy again and again. Finally, this last week my motherboard failed. I was so fed up that I went out and bought a new motherboard, processor, and video card. Well, here we go again. Installing all this stuff takes forever and entails many reboots. I put my hard drive in and lo and behold XP won't start up! So.... I put my XP Pro disk into the dvd reader and get it started on a repair mission. Half way through, up comes this message telling me that it has detected new hardware and that I have to activate my XP within three days. At this time I am half way through installing the drivers for my mother board which require another reboot. Then..... up pops a message telling me that I have to activate or I won't be allowed to login. Would I like to activate now? So....... I click okay and I wait and wait and wait and finally realize that whatever it takes for the Internet to happen has not yet been installed. Hence my quest to find the darn phone number. I started getting the computer fired up this morning and it is now 8:30 pm Atlantic Time and I am here on the other side of town typing on my friend's computer. I wonder what lies in waiting for me tomorrow when I get back to it. Good thing I have an excellent sense of humour.
