Default Installing XP home on a Toshiba A150 S2194 Laptop.

Installing XP home on a Toshiba A150 S2194 Laptop.

I usually use either a DELL or eMachine Corp Enterprise XP Home CD, install
and reboot then register with MS online / Validate / Call Telephone / Change
the 25 keys and UPDATE. Reboot and the Validate with the legal 25 key
sticker on the Laptop case.

But this Toshiba is not working. What should I do ? The legal sticker is
on the case.

Does Toshiba Tech Requires Toshiba Software installation for registering
with MS / Validating the 25 digit key install sticker on the laptop case?

I have a TOSHIBA A105 S2194 laptop with no recovery disks.

Thanks.

You don't really say what part is not working?
However I'd call Toshiba and see if you can buy some Restore/Recovery CD's

The problem is you need to use a "non-branded" generic XP Home install
CD and not the ones from Dell / eMachines. Branded install CD can be
"tweaked" to only permit the install to work on the "same" brand of
PCs.

As for Toshiba's versions, as with most laptops, Toshiba usually
provides a "recovery CD" image (an installed version of XP) that is
already "activated."

I think that's the easiest IMO.

Some companies like Dell give you the Boot Disks
HP however doesn't,
and on HP unless you "Make some" in the beginning
You have to buy some, from them for $50.00
I'm unsure of Toshiba however.
Hopefully you can get a "Recovery" CD for that Model.
