Easy way to reinstall Win10 without screwing up the programs?
Is there an easy way to reinstall Win10 without screwing up the programs?
My desktop is getting slow but I can't find out why. It's only about six months old but its noticeably slower. For example, I right click to creat a new folder and it takes five seconds for the first and second, and maybe third, but then the next few come right away. Likewise, when I choose a file in a dialog box, maybe the first and third take five seconds while the second and fourth are normal. I don't know if something is "malware" or not on my system, so all I want to really do, rather than run scans that I won't know how to interpret is to just re-install windows 10 the easiest way possible without screwing up the programs or data. I know I can put a new disk in and do it that way but I don't want to start totally from scratch. And I don't want to run malware scans forever because I've been there and done that and you just get too much useless data. I'm sure the malware is in there buried in th data but it's buried in the data. Without scanning forever for malware, and without tons of effort. What is the easiest method to wipe out and reinstall windows 10? |

I have a Raid 1 setup on my D: drive, and currently they are having a problem staying synced. So the first time I try to do something that involves that drive after it has been idle for a while there is a slight pause, then everything works up to speed until the drive is idle for a while. If you are experiencing drive read and/or write problems that could explain some of the delays you are seeing. |

What you want probably won't work, if you re-install everything just as it is, such as restoring an image, you'll probably re-install whatever is the problem now. Learn how to run and interpret a malware scan, it very likely is the only option other than to format the disk, re-install Windows and then re-install all your programs from scratch which is exactly what you're trying to avoid.
