Default setiing Folder View to show details

Is there any way to set the Folder View to details for all the folders
rather than to tiles in XP?

Yes there is. It's really easy to do too.

Here's what you do. Go to any folder and set the view to details.

Don't close the window (stay in that folder).

Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Folder Options".

Select the "View" tab.

Click the "Apply To All Folders" button under the "Folder Views" section at the top.

Click "Apply" then "OK"

Close any folder windows, including "My Computer" and then everything should be in details view.

Yes, easy. Open your C:\ Drive, then on the top toolbar, there is a
button that looks like a mini-window. Click the arrow next to it and
click "Details".

I just tried that, and it didn't work. It only set the directories and files in the root of C:\ to detail view.

My method does every file and folder on the entire computer.
