Greetings Wiss,

Firstly, you'll want to upgrade the version of DirectX on your PC, as older versions can
cause this to happen:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...F-5EAB5C851CF5

Secondly, if after rebooting to complete the DirectX installation that this doesn't work, and
if you're using a Linksys router, you may need to upgrade it to the latest firmwa
http://www.linksys.com/download
(See the router documentation on how to install it)

Thirdly, if none of these works or didn't apply, are you referring to MSN Messenger or
Windows Messenger? Before you answer, open up the task manager (right-click the taskbar and
choose Task Manager or press Ctrl-Alt-Del), click the Processes tab, then look for
"msnmsgr.exe" -- if all you see is "msmsgs.exe", then it's Windows Messenger.

Default messenger freezes!!!

I am having the EXACT same problems, but am running the
latest DirectX version.

The problem started with XP Messenger being a CPU hog,
and having to stop it manually. So I uninstalled it
using your run command, and downloaded MSN Messenger 6.1.
And while with XP Messenger at least I was able to have
some functionality (although it would run real slow and
cause all programs to do the same), MSN Messenger 6.1.027
freezes--immediately after I log in. Until it's not
logged it everything is fine with it.

Any help?
