Default XP Pro Dial-up Internet connection - Gateway setup

Gateways are implemented when you wish to talk to another
pc on the LAN... and therefore are not generally needed
for dial-up. If you really truely do need this option then
you should right click on your connection properties
highlight TCP/IP when the protocols appear in the next
dialog box and then insert the ip and gateway desired. If
it wont let you do this try the advanced tab.

Hi -

I am having trouble setting up a dial-up connection to an
ISP in Windows XP Pro (on a new Dell P4 2.53Ghz). Under
Win98 there is an option to set the Gateway for dial-up.
However for XP Pro, this option only exists for a LAN
connection.

How can I set the Gateway for dial-up?

I am unsure as to whether this is the cause of not being
able to connect to the ISP via Dial-up. Under Win98 (old
PC) dial-up works as it should.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
