Email attachments.
Any attachments sent to me with a 'pps' extension are
being deemed unsafe and I am unable to look at them. I have recd a file with 'jpg' extension though. I do not want to turn off my AVG virus scanner just to accept certain attachments. Has anybody else had this problem - can anybody suggest a solution? |

AVG is not causing the problem. It is Outlook Express' increased default
security settings. Open OEToolsOptions"Security" tab Remove the check mark from in front of "Do not allow attachments.....virus". If you happen to be using Outlook, instead of Outlook Express, this KB article has information to allow certain attachments to be viewed. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290497 Warning, this will allow potentially unsafe attachments with unsafe code to be saved, downloaded, and possibly executed. Make sure you keep your antivirus software up to date. -- Bob Michon Associate Expert Expert Zone---http://microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/default.asp ___ "Jules" wrote in message ... Save the file to your desktop, run a virus scan. If there aren't any
viruses, open the file. These warnings are to prevent you from the pains of a possible virus infection on your system. "Jules" wrote in message ...
