PARALELL PORT
-----Original Message----- After upgrading Win me to xp home edition. My printer hp T45 would not operate. I got the compatible xp drivers.. Removed all old drivers and software. Removed and install the paralell port. Set Bios to 378. Loaded new drivers but still no recognization of the port. (I had followed all inst for reloading drivers and connecting printer and turning it on) Still no response that the parallel LPT1 port was active...Then on my own I selected LPT2 as my port WOW this worked perfect. All was well until I rebooted ...the printer was dead again. Reselected the LPT (a different Port) and all would load and be ok..Everytime the computer is rebooted the parallel port is out... Please is the an answer for this. Thanking anyone in advance if there is a solution.. . Ted, I don't know that this directly answers your question but look at MS Article 318273. This tells you that XP does not support Printing from LPT. I'm wrestling with a similar problem with a HP930C, followed MS advice and ran from a USB port but still takes 4+mins. to print a single Word 2000 page!!! Barry |
