Default Adding a 2nd. HDD as slave

Providing that the physical IDE connections and slave
jumpers are right, and when booting the pc, accesing the
BIOS process and formatting the new drive goes well. Do I
have to implement the OS, in this case XP Professional
into the new drive? If so, please let me know how. If
not, again help me proceed the right direction.
Thank you.

right click on my computer
click manage
under storage, select Disk Management.
your new drive should be listed here. normally a drive utility appears and
assists you in adding the drive...
you can also format it or change drive letter here as well. hope this
helps.
