I have a program that runs all of the time. I can, of course,
minimize it so that it shows along the bottom of the window,
but I would really like to have it not show up there--just keep
running in the background. Is there a way to do that? How
about getting the icon to show up in the taskbar?

Hello

What programs is it, that would ok, also another thing
that programs should have some options as to where you
can select different options on how to use that program.

Do you want it to show an icon in the system tray, at the right side
of the taskbar? The program might have a built-in option for that.
If not, here are some utility programs that say they can minimize
programs to the system tray:

http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-...l?tag=lst-0-24
http://www.actualtools.com/windowsma..._to_tray.shtml
http://www.shelltoys.com/minimize_tr...stem_tray.html

You can probably find more by doing a web search for "minimize to
system tray" or similar strings.
