Default Home networking and software

If I plan to create a network of two computers, does that
mean that not only can they share an Internet Connection,
files, printers, etc., but what about software? Will I
need to buy some software for the secondary PC or will it
share the same one installed in the primary computer?

You'll have to buy the software for use on the second PC.
