Default winlogon.exe & extremely high PF usage

Recently i have encountered some iritating problems with the process
winlogon.exe.

The process usually used up all of my memory at the start up, sometime
released memory afterward, sometime not. that process also suddenly hogged
memory during the usage of my pc, and i havent specified the relation of that
occurence with any event yet.
My PF usage is constantly high, approximately 90% of my VM even though the
least number of processes is running. With the VM size column in Process tab
of Task Manager, i found out that all of that VM is allocated to the process
winlogon.exe, its memory usage at that time is only 4MB, its page fault is
over 400MB.
Is there something wrong with the winlogon.exe process?
Hope someone will help me soon enough, i gonna reinstall windows if this
cant be fixed.
FYI: i'm using Win Xp Pro SP2, the version of the file is 5.1.2600.2180.

more info: i scanned my pc for virus and spyware already, found nothing. the
location of the file is in windows\system32\ and windows\system32\dllcache,
should not be any fraud.
