Default Temporary Keyboard lockup

Hello,

As I'm typing I notice notice my keyboard will lock up. For example I may
type the word "computer" & look at the screen & only see the little "c". The
cursor will be locked up. After about 10 seconds the rest of the letters
appear. I cleaned my keyboard but the problem still occurs. However, as I
typed this message the problem didn't occur. It comes and goes. I can
speed up the 10 second delay by clicking on another web page & then coming
back to my message & the cursor will be blinking fine.

You have a program running in the background that is taking a lot of system
time.
Look in task manager to see if you can identify it. Do you have virus
programs running? Check for malware?

Hello,

I brought up Task Manager & the only thing that I could see was that I had
two browsers in the task bar (Internet Explorer & Avant). I also ran a
malware application & there is no malware. BTW, this problem only recently
started &, so far, as I'm typing this response, the cursor has not locked
up. Could it be that I have two browsers open that is causing this issue?

Default Temporary Keyboard lockup

Hi Jim,

I use Open Office. However, it seems the problem occurs when I use my
hotmail program & try to type an e-mail or reply to an e-mail. It has also
occurred trying to type a response here earlier today. (BTW, this issue only
recently started) However, in my previous response to "Unknown", I had two
different browsers open (I.E. and Avant). I closed one & so far as I'm
typing this message the cursor has not locked up. Any thoughts or
suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Jim,

I think everything is okay now. I was typing you a response a few minutes
ago using Avant as my browser & noticed the cursor freezing up again after
typing a few words. I opened up task manager & under Processes, the CPU was
running something like 95%. So I had an idea. I closed out Avant & opened
up Internet Explorer & looked at Task Manager again & under Processes the
CPU usage was only about 0-2%. I then typed this message again & the cursor
didn't lock up this time at all.

I guess my question is why would Avant cause this issue?

Hopefully, this was the issue.

Thanks,

John
