Add ing a computer running NT to an XP home network
Just set it up manually. Give the computer a name and put you network
name in the Workgroup name box. Go to the properties of the card add Client for Microsoft Networks, TCP/IP, File and Printer Sharing. Double click on TCP/IP. Select Obtain an IP address automatically. On the WINS tab select Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. Reboot and it should connect. wrote in message ... You'll have to disable the Computer Browser service on the NT box too. Otherwise NT and XP will argue over who keeps the list of workgroup members. XP is only happy being the boss. |
