.NET Passport
..NET Passport is causing a major problem in my network
access. Is there anyway to remove this from my system? I cannot access the server drives that I am suppose to, and when I try some ask for my hotmail/passport user name and password, and some just deny access. Please help, this is on my work computer and since this happened I cannot even fill in my time sheet. Thank you. |

Greetings TK,
..NET Passport is actually integrated into Windows XP, you can't remove it. However, you may be able to fix this by removing all of your saved username and passwords (Passport and for the network). To accomplish this, click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. Click each entry in this window, then click 'Remove'. After you're done all this, when you access network resources and Messenger, you'll need to re-type your username/passwords. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "TK" wrote in message ... .NET Passport is causing a major problem in my network access. .NET Passport
I have tried that, tried a system restore, and even
deleted my account and re created it. All attempts have failed. I am totally lost. Is there anything else that can be done, maybe something in the registry? This is really fustrating, I can't do my work very efficently, not untill I get around this problem. -----Original Message----- Greetings TK, ..NET Passport is actually integrated into Windows XP, you can't remove it. Hi TK,
Since you've done the System Restore (were you able to login to Messenger after the restore?), depending on your works' resources, you might want to ask them about the server drive issues. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "TK" wrote in message ... .NET Passport
Yeah messenger came back. The server is set up so that
my windows login is the same as my user name on the server so that everything that I have permission to use on the server has my name in the permissions, but since the .net passport setup it prompts me for a user name and password when I go to network places and try to access the network drives, and the mapped ones that I had in my computer gives me an error message. I really don't have a clue to do, I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking about formatting. Thanks for all your help. -----Original Message----- Hi TK, Since you've done the System Restore (were you able to login to Messenger after the restore?), depending on your works' resources, you might want to ask them about the server drive issues. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "TK" wrote in message ...
