Default Windows XP Shutdown Screen

This is not a biggie, but it is perplexing - why do some of my XP shutdown
screens have the three-icon "shutdown/standby/restart" screen, and some have
the drop-down shutdown menu?

I'm pretty sure they're all XP Pro, upgraded to SP3 and the latest fixes.

Pretty sure won't cut it. Make sure all of them are fully patched.

Harley

Are some computers members of a domain and others not?

Try this:

Control Panel\User Accounts\Change the way users start and close windows\
check/uncheck 'Use the Welcome Screen'

Your response had nothing to do with the OP's question; you totally
missed it in your micro-management endeavors.
He more than likely has differences in settings like Use Welcome
Screen and things like that. I don't know all the places that could be
affected but I know it can be.

HTH,

That was it! And if you delete the ASP.NET account and disable the Guest
account you can stay logged on (assuming a one-user PC) eliminating the need
to go through clicking on your username and logging back in each time

Thanks for your help.

And just for the record, all the machines are maxed out on upgrades - but
thanks for the concern anyway.
