Check out http://www.freeoffice.com/ which is an MS Office compatible
replacement. The above link is a lite free version, but they also
have a commercial version with more capability. I've started with the
free version and moved up to the pay version ($99) several years ago.
It's well worth the money IMO.

How well does it work on w10x?

What's w10x?

Windows 10 beta at the moment.

Thanks for clarifying.

I'll step out since I have zero interest in MS Office replacements and less
than zero interest in beta Operating Systems.

Email list-server groups and USENET are like having all of those
newspapers delivered to your door every morning.

Why have you no interest in non-compatible MS Office replacements and
non-functional Operating Systems? Don't you enjoy being frustrated at
every turn?

How boring! G

I have other forms of excitement in my life. Besides, we don't need another
beta tester. This newsgroup seems to be filled with them, although a lot
don't seem to realize that they are. ;-)
