Default ! ! ! ! How can you delete listing in msconfig under startup? ! ! ! !

When you run MSCONFIG.exe and then goto the startup tab, I still find items there that I deleted due to being spyware. How can I get the listing deleted from the startup section completly where the option of checking is no longer there.

PLEASE I HATE TO SEE IT THERE, **** SPYWARE TO HELL!!

THANKS on whoever gives me a reply to this

Enigma,

See Tip 148 in MVP Kelly's site: Clear Disabled Items from Msconfig =
Startup
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

NOTE:
The disabled startup items are moved he
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg]

I can't thank you enough for posting this message. Anyone reading this, DO NOT go near anything called "cool-web search" or "cool-net search". I don't know how it happened, but an executable file was mistakenly downloaded on this machine that was modifyi
ng the registry folder everytime the pc was re-booted. i could delete the registry items, but the item remained in the start-up folder. Anytime you stumbled on the wrong website, it automatically re-programmed the registry to load the damn thing at start
-up! I'd like to delete the scumbag responsible for this bull****. Spread the word. Thanks again.

Global-Finder (CoolWebSearch spyware). This is a trojan/spyware that =
hijacks Internet Explorer start and search settings to one of several =
different web sites=20

Download CoolWebSearch destroyer from he
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

And download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and update it. It =
eliminates for any other spyware, if present in the system.
