Default Windows 7 Download Problems

Sorry if this question has already been asked, but a search found nothing.

While Eudora 7.0.1.0 works flawlessly on my Windows XP systems, checking
for new mail on my Windows 7 system is painfully slow. (It takes a LONG
time before the download progress indicator shows anything, and
downloads actually begin.)

Anyone have the same problem and, if so, a solution?

Thanks!
